Gonçalo Pinto Ferreira, head partner in Employment and Social Security area of practice at TELLES, signs an opinion article entitled “Dignified Work: An agenda for causes or for the effects?”, published in the Human Resources magazine.
The TELLES labour law and social security expert lawyer addresses the new law proposal recently approved with a package of 70 measures that aim to combat precariousness and value young people in the labour market.
“I expected to find the words to encourage, promote or make flexible, I find, instead, prohibition, imposition and obligation. And, once again attacking the effects and not the causes, the supervisory authorities' ability to intervene is reinforced, which in itself would not necessarily be negative, were it not for the logic of simplification in punishment which, let's face it, does not always translate in a fairer decision”, says Gonçalo Pinto Ferreira.
