On October 4, 2022, the European Council approved the Digital Services Act (DSA), Digital Services Regulation, thus taking another important step in establishing effective measures to create a safer and more transparent digital environment.
The Regulation will enter into force within 15 months after its publication. The Regulation will apply to all intermediary providers of online services, although some of its rules apply only to large digital platforms (Very large online Platforms “VLOPs”) and large online search engines ( Very Large Online Search Engines “VLOSEs”), defined as those that provide their services to a monthly average of active users in the European Union equal to or greater than 45 million.
