Informative Note | Changes to the Residence Authorization Scheme for Investment Activity - Golden Visa

Decree-Law no. 14/2021, of 12 February was published, which alters the legal regime for the entry, stay, departure and removal of foreigners from national territory, regulated by Law no. 23/2007, of 4 July, with significant changes in the Residence Permit Scheme for Investment Activity (“Golden Visa”).
The new regime will enter into force on 1 January 2022 and will only apply to applications requested from that date.
