On the 28th of May, comes into force Decree-Law no. 109-G/2021, from december 10, by partially transposing Directive (EU) 2019/2161, regarding consumer protecion. It introduces new rules for greater transparency of online markets, as well as establishing effective sanctions, applicable in the event of breaches of consumer rights.
Through this new regulatory framework, the aim was to ensure a better application and modernization of consumer protection rules, following the digital evolution.
In this context, the Digital, Privacy and Cybersecurity team has prepared an informative note, in which it highlights the main news that will come into force on May 28.
