As a consequence of the "state of alarm" activated by the Spanish government in the face of the spread of COVID-19, the Executive Director of the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office - responsible for the trademarks, designs and models registration process in the European Union) has authorized the activation of the Office’s business continuity protocol, determining that as of 16.03.2020 inclusive, all the staff all EUIPO staff will work from home.
The work in the EUIPO will continue with normality, continuing to receive, examine and publish applications for trademarks and designs, maintaining the course of communication and set the deadlines. Bulletin publications will continue as usual.
A decision has been published by the Executive Director extending all deadlines that fall between 09.03.2020 and 30.04.2020 to 04.05.2020 (deadlines are extended until Monday, May 4, since Friday, May 1, is a public holiday).
The EUIPO’s Information Center and Second Line will continue to receive enquiries by phone or e-mail.
TELLES will ensure, at this stage, on a home office basis, the monitoring of the processes in EUIPO, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
