Fernando Pizarro Monteiro, Partner at TELLES, comments on the Whistleblowing Directive in Jornal de Negócios, mentioned that "the internal whistleblowing channels will be carried out by the companies, regarding the reception and follow-up of complaints, by people or services designated for this purpose".

The lawyer specialised in litigation and compliance also highlighted that companies will have to ensure "independence, impartiality, confidentiality, data protection, privacy and absence of conflicts of interest in the performance of these functions".
