José Miguel Albuquerque, Senior Associate in the Sports Law Department of TELLES, will participate in the Conference on Equality and Inclusion in Football 2023, organised by the Fare network.
The conference, which will be held in Lisbon on 15 and 16 June, will bring together key stakeholders in the sector, NGOs, intergovernmental organisations and football bodies, with the aim of taking stock of the fight against discrimination and the promotion of equality in football and defining actions for the future.
Challenges and good practices in areas such as tackling discrimination in football, ensuring diverse leadership, developing inclusive policies for intersex and transgender people, combating anti-Semitism and integrating refugees through football will all be addressed.
The Equality and Inclusion in Football 2023 Conference will be attended by representatives from the United Nations Refugee Agency, the European Commission, FIFA, football associations, professional clubs, Major League Soccer and many others.
The Fare Network was founded in February 1999 in Vienna, Austria, to combat discrimination in European football.
