José Pedroso de Melo clarifies aspects related to the tax on excessive profits in energy to Jornal Económico

José Pedroso de Melo, Of Counsel of the Tax area of practice at TELLES, comments on aspects related to the tax on excessive profits from energy, in Jornal Económico.

According to the TELLES tax lawyer, “in Portugal, there are already special contributions that affect the gains of certain sectors”, as is the case of the energy sector. José Pedroso de Melo recalls that "CESE (Extraordinary Contribution on the Energy Sector) is permanent. There is a risk of [a new tax rate] being eternalized".
